Join us at the Penn Newman Center on Friday, May 8 for "Medical Ethics in the Catholic Tradition: A Book Celebration," a Collegium Institute Winged Ox Forum for Theology and Medicine special event. We will be joined by the four authors of Medical Ethics in the Catholic Tradition: Perspectives from Philosophy, Theology, Medicine, and Law, published this year by Routledge: Collegium Trustee Margaret M. Hogan, Edward M. Hogan, Annique K. Hogan, and Matthew J.D. Hogan.
The speakers are, respectively, a philosopher, theologian, physician, and attorney. Their commitment to the Roman Catholic tradition provides the foundational principles for addressing a wide range of issues in contemporary medical ethics. In their discussion, the co-authors will explore the ways in which their respective professions and disciplines act in service to medicine as an instrument for real human flourishing.
The event will include a discussion between the co-authors and an audience Q&A, followed by a food & drinks reception.
Date: Friday, May 8, 6:00PM
Location: Penn Newman Center (111 S. 38th Street, University City Philadelphia)
