"The Scarlet and the Black": Catholic Humanism Movie Night

Catholic Humanism Fellows and all undergraduate and graduate students are invited to join us on Thursday, October 15 for a showing of The Scarlet and the Black, Gregory Peck's classic film about a Catholic priest helping Jewish refugees and prisoners of war escape Nazi-occupied Rome during the Second World War. Based on the true story of Irish priest Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty, The Scarlet and the Black offers a story of powerful resistance in the face of totalitarianism—speaking to many of the themes addressed this semester in our Catholic Humanism Fellowship, “Christ & the Common Good: A Catholic Humanism Series on Faith and Politics.”

All are welcome to join us for this movie night. Bring your friends—there will be fresh popcorn!

Date: Thursday, October 15, 8:00 - 10:00 PM (after Holy Hour)

Location: Penn & Drexel Newman Center Lower Lounge (111 S 38th St, University City Philadelphia)
