Home & Away (Food for Thought Module III)

“…we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home.”

— Wendell Berry

In this series, we will consider the meaning and importance of home. Beyond just the very real importance of shelter, home offers us our origin and end, the place from which we come and the place to which we seek to return.  We will consider the nature of home, journey and return while asking four essential questions: What is home for us? Why do we leave home? How do we make a home for others? And why do we long to return home?

Join Collegium Institute for this third module of Food for Thought beginning on Wednesday, November 9.

This program is open to students at the University of Pennsylvania and other Philadelphia area colleges. Food for Thought is cosponsored by Harrison College House and Penn’s Program for Research on Religion and Urban Civil Society.
