Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.
-St. Jerome

We are excited to announce that in this year’s Collegium Institute Graduate Colloquia, we will explore the polyphony of complementary approaches to Sacred Scripture in the Catholic tradition. This will include understanding different ways of interpreting the Bible within the Catholic intellectual tradition, past and present, but also ways of encountering Holy Writ through art, text, music, liturgy, and literature, all of which are to be directed toward the love of God. The final session of the Spring semester took the form of a tour of the Philadelphia Museum of Art exploring Scripture in visual media, led by Jessica Sweeney.

Dates: Thursdays during the Fall 2021 semester, September 9, October 7, November 11, December 9

Thursdays during the Spring 2022 semester (except for the culminating Art Museum tour on Friday, May 13): January 27, February 24, March 31, and Friday, May 13.

Time: 7:00–8:30pm

Location: In person at the Penn Newman Center (111 S 38th St. Philadelphia, PA)
