This event will be hosted by the Beatrice Institute and co-sponsored by Collegium Institute.
In the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our lives have changed dramatically. Sources of human flourishing that we have long taken for granted, including friendships, employment, and civic organizations, have been weakened or even eliminated. This is a testament to the disruptive power of both the disease and our attempts to contain it.
Join Beatrice Institute and the Nursing Health Services and Policy Research HUB at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing as we consider what it means to flourish; the notion of human flourishing that has been implicit in decisions within the health care delivery, public health, and broader social policy; and how a more capacious understanding of human flourishing might aid our response moving forward.
The webinar consists in a one-hour panel discussion on Flourishing in the Wake of COVID-19 featuring:
Prof. Tyler VanderWeele (Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health)
Dr. Kristin Collier (University of Michigan Medical School)
Dr. Benjamin Miller (Well Being Trust)
The discussion will feature three brief presentations and a Q&A, moderated by Prof. Grant Martsolf (University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing). Following the conclusion of the formal program, there will be an extended, thirty-minute open Q&A period.
Date: September 17, 2020
