The Collegium Institute invites you to apply for this Spring’s Fellowship program exploring art, philosophy, and the transcendent: Art is For Living. The program will welcome a small cohort of student fellows each semester to participate in a seven-session dinner discussion series held at the University of Pennsylvania, including a capstone museum trip and workshop.
The discussions will be facilitated by artists, philosophers, and other thinkers who seek to explore the heart of craft, beauty and making with an attunement to their philosophical and theological underpinnings. Among the questions to be raised are: What is art? Why do we make? What is the responsibility of the artist? What is the relationship between beauty, truth, & justice? Between creativity and the divine? What is the place of ritual and routine?
The 7 dinner sessions will take place at the University of Pennsylvania on Mondays in February, March and April from 5:00pm–6:00pm:
