Childhood, and how we conceive of it, has morphed and shifted over the millenia. Every culture and era has had a different conception of childhood, from the Ancient Romans to the late Medieval period, the Victorians and various hunter-gatherer societies and of course our own today, and everything in between. When does childhood end? Do college students deserve to be counted as children? In this Food for Thought, we’ll be exploring questions surrounding children, including the nature of childhood, moral agency, rights, socialization, and education.
