Students, alumni, friends, and families are invited to attend our Penn Alumni Cocktail Hour on Friday, May 16 and our Penn Alumni Brunch on Sunday, May 18. Both events will take place at the Penn Newman Center (111 S. 38th Street).
At our Alumni Cocktail Hour on Friday, May 16 from 4:00-6:00pm, we invite you to join us for drinks and snacks as we kick off alumni weekend. All are welcome!
Cocktail Hour Date: Friday, May 16, 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
Cocktail Hour Location: Penn Newman Center (111 S. 38th Street)
We also invite you to join us for a free continental brunch event. The brunch will take place in the Church Hall immediately after the 9am Mass in St. Agatha-St. James Church. Our event will feature a brief, informal program with a distinguished alum: “Penn Newman, Collegium Institute, and the Future of the Catholic Literary Imagination.” Bernardo Aparicio-Garcia C’05, publisher, will reflect on his experience co-founding with other Penn Alumni the premier Catholic literary magazine in America, Dappled Things. He will consider how the intellectual ferment in the Penn Newman community 20 years ago relates to the new challenges and opportunities in the present moment and how literature endures as a vital source of enchantment in modernity. After brief remarks and discussion, participants will have an opportunity to engage the conversation and hear the latest updates from Penn Newman and Collegium Institute – and to continue brunching. All are welcome!
Brunch Date: Sunday, May 18, 10:00 - 11:30 am.
Brunch Location: Penn Newman Center (111 S. 38th Street)
Alumni are able to RSVP for both events via the Penn Alumni Weekend Registration Portal. You can also register at the Google Form linked below. Questions? Please contact Quinn Moore (qmoore@collegiuminstitute.org).
