Young Catholic Leaders Initiative Student Ambassadors Program

Young Catholic Leaders Initiative Student Ambassadors Program: Apply Now!

Over the last three years, the Collegium Institute's Young Catholic Leaders Initiative (YCLI) has reached over 150 high school students in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Now, thanks to a generous grant from the Ambassador's Fund for Catholic Education, the Collegium Institute's Young Catholic Leaders Initiative (YCLI) is inaugurating an exciting new yearlong Student Ambassadors program for a select group of high school students.

The theme for the inaugural year of the Student Ambassadors Program is 7 Secrets to the Good Life: Living and Learning the Virtues. This program will consist of seven sessions over the course of the year where students will learn about and live out the cardinal and theological virtues through museum visits and hikes, service projects and feasts.

Student Ambassadors are entitled to Collegium merchandise and will be invited to participate in exclusive Collegium events, from museum visits and concerts to feasts and service projects. All Student Ambassadors can suggest new topics and programs for YCLI to the Managing Director at any time, from dramatic readings of great plays to lighthearted debates on various topics.

First, all Student Ambassadors invite at least three friends to each general YCLI event, with prizes awarded at the end of the year to the most enterprising Ambassadors. Second, all Student Ambassadors must attend 2 of 3 general YCLI events (Fall Workshop, Spring Workshop, and Summer Seminar) and at least 2 Student Ambassador events per year.

  • The Virtues and Vices of Artificial Intelligence, 11/18/2023

  • Civic Virtues: Freedom and Justice, 3/23/2024

  • The Undiscovered Country: On Life after Death, 6/26/2024-6/28/2024

All Young Catholic Leaders Initiative activities this year are made possible through a generous grant from the Ambassador’s Fund for Catholic Education, the successor name to the Archdiocesan Educational Fund. This charitable organization was created and funded by Matthew H. McCloskey, Fr. (1893-1973), building contractor and U.S. Ambassador to Ireland (1962-64), in 1967 to advance Catholic education and evangelization throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The name of the Fund changed in February 2020.
