Food for Thought Module III: Choosing Free Will

Fall 2020 Event Banners-57.png

Please join Collegium Institute for the third and final Food for Thought module of the Fall 2020 semester: Choosing Free Will.

Is free will a figment of our imagination? A neuroscientific mistake? Or a decision we make? Join us as we look at a few accounts of free will to see how free it is and why it matters. We will be looking at some contemporary scientific research on the question as well as some classic texts from philosophy. We'll report, but you will have to decide!

Over the course of three sessions, we will be joined by several distinguished facilitators: Dr. Jessie Taylor (University of the Sciences), Dr. Nathan Hauthaler (PRRUCS), Prof. Terence Sweeney (Villanova University & Collegium Institute), and Dr. Daniel Cheely (PRRUCS & Collegium Institute).

Dates: Wednesdays, November 11, November 18, December 2

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time

Readings: The readings for this module are all optional. Please find the readings for session 1 here.

Registration: Please register using the form below to receive the Zoom information for each session. This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
